Balut Vendor

Like the whole cart ice cream you can also find balut vendors in the streets usually at night. They are actually selling two different kinds of incubated duck egg, “balut” and “penoy”, which are usually sold together. The vendors don’t push carts but they carry baskets where they wrap the eggs in a layer of cloth to keep them warm. You will hear them shout balut! penoy! balut! penoy! in the streets. Aside from selling balut, they also sell chicharon (cracklings).

Weekend Snapshot #10

Fruits anyone? I arranged the fruits on a large plate so that it is more attractive. I just placed fruits that do not need peeling like kiwi, peach, apple grapes, and strawberry. I just cut the fruits in a bite size. Next time I will try to add some more fruits so that is more colorful.

I am really fascinated to try out all new kinds of food preparation than the usual or traditional style like using measuring cups or spoons, or even the usual stuff we find cooking books. This is just one of them. I grilled some lean beef and prepared a side dish like grilled squash and cucumber. Look at the color, its very pretty and and yummy too.
