Vegetable For Me

Vegetable is good for the health so we prepare it everyday in our meals. There are various ways to cook these vegetables and one of them is a mixture of different kinds of vegetables which is called “chopsuey”. To prepare, we should have Chinese pechay, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, young corn, and red bell pepper. Slice and wash all the vegetables. Cut into cubes the chicken meat and shell the shrimps. Sautee the garlic, onions, chicken meat and shrimps. Then add the vegetables with little water. Cook for a short time and add little salt to taste. The vegetables must be half cooked to preserve the nutrients.

Longsilog with Kiwi Fruit

Fried rice, egg cooked as sunny side-up and longganisa or chorizo is usually called “longsilog” in the Philippines. It is a combination of these foods which is prepared for breakfast. A slice of papaya , banana, mango or other fruits maybe added. A cup of coffee or chocolate will complete our meal. This is the style of my breakfast preparation, instead of papaya, banana or mango for sidedish I placed a kiwi fruit. I think the picture looks good because of the red, yellow and green combination. Hope you’ll like it.

Arozcaldo Preparation

Arozcaldo is a common dish for merienda or meal. It is made of rice and chicken. It will be more palatable if we use the native chicken. First, we sauté the garlic followed by the onions and ginger sliced into strips. Then place the cut chicken meat. Add the rice and water. Let it boil and simmer until the chicken and rice is cooked. Add salt to taste and monosodium glutamate to enhance the flavor. Photo credit by me.

My First Egg Omelet

Egg Omelet is another preparation for breakfast. You just beat the eggs and add the sliced ham, tomatoes, green bell pepper and mushroom. A pinch of black pepper will then be added. Now, it is ready for cooking. This omelet maybe eaten with bread. Another way of preparing omelet is by mixing the beaten eggs with tomatoes and onions and a little of evaporated milk. Pour it in a pan mixing the eggs continuously till cooked. Serve it with fried rice or “sinangag”. Did I make you hungry? Photo credit by me.
