Like the whole cart ice cream you can also find balut vendors in the streets usually at night. They are actually selling two different kinds of incubated duck egg, “balut” and “penoy”, which are usually sold together. The vendors don’t push carts but they carry baskets where they wrap the eggs in a layer of cloth to keep them warm. You will hear them shout balut! penoy! balut! penoy! in the streets. Aside from selling balut, they also sell chicharon (cracklings).
