“Kalesa” or horse-drawn cart. In the 18th Century the kalesa was the upper classes mode of transport, only the nobles and officials could afford the luxury of the kalesa. It was also in the 18th Century that the kalesa was known as the Rolls Royce. Nowadays, you can rent the kalesa for 250 Php from Manila Catheral where they are mostly parked. You can also see some kalesa in Chinatown and even in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
